HomeMocha Girls on a MissionMocha Girl of the Week: Lady BrookeLynn Terri Lomax May 12, 2014 Lady BrookeLynn was nominated by her friend Briana! About Lady BrookeLynn… Throughout my life, I was a pretty awesome kid if I should say so myself. I was involved in dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, I loved to sing, and I loved to talk. I was always putting on a show or in front of a camera. I was very outgoing as a child and I never had trouble making friends. I used to get in trouble ALL the time for talking to much in class. My teachers would always say, “Girl, you need a talk show, so you can shut up in my class.” I know teachers. I know. In 2010, I graduated with honors from the best high school in the world and was headed to THE Ohio State University! GO BUCKS! I am currently a fourth year student at THE Ohio State University, studying Communications. Being accepted to THE Ohio State University was one of the most amazing moments of my life. I have had some amazing opportunities and I have made the BEST friends! Hey Frens! Why Lady Brookelynn is a Mocha Girl on a Mission… In December of 2013, I found out that I would have to have open-heart surgery. I was diagnosed with tricuspid valve stenosis. Tricuspid valve stenosis is a valvular heart disease which results in the narrowing of the orifice of the tricuspid valve of the heart. It is a relatively rare condition that causes stenosis– increased resistance to blood flow through the valve. (Wikipedia) On March 14th, 2014, I had a valve replacement surgery. I now have a brand new valve and I am alive and kickin’! READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD. In the very near future I plan on becoming a TV & radio personality, philanthropist, socialite and maybe one day a Public Relations Agent. My ultimate goal is to empower young women. I know what it’s like to struggle with insecurities and to wake up some mornings not feeling good about who you are. I want to be the woman who helped that young lady overcome those struggles. I want to be that woman who helps a little girl love herself. I want my career to be life changing, not just for me but for those around me. #projectheART is an organization geared toward promoting healthy heart living and bringing awareness to heart disease and prevention.#projectheART is my journey to healthy hearts. Through this journey I will share my own personal story of my journey to my healthy heart and how I plan to use my story to positively impact the lives of others. This blog [LadyBrookelynn.com] is one of my dreams come true! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my journey with you! Please don’t ever hesitate to email, tweet, facebook, etc. I will always be there for you all. Keep in touch with Lady Brookelynn!
