In 6 days I’ll be 30 years old. What a milestone! It still feels so surreal that I’m finally leaving the 20’s club.

This year also marks 7 years since I started the Mocha Girls Pit Stop blog. 7 years ago I was a broke grad student trying to find my way, heal from my unpleasant past, and manifest my dreams and visions.

When I started this blog, my only goal was to create a safe space for black women and women of color to let down their hair, share their stories, and heal from trauma.

7 is a number that represents completeness and perfection and I believe my mission here has been accomplished.

Why I’m Retiring the Mocha Girls Pit Stop Blog and How We Can Stay Connected

Retiring the Mocha Girls Pit Stop blog is bittersweet but over the past 10 months, I’ve constantly asked myself, “Is this space still needed?” “Did I accomplish what I set out to accomplish?” “Am I holding on to something that’s ready to be laid to rest?”

Purpose, value, and intentionality are important to me and I believe it’s time to close this chapter.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey, watching me grow and evolve, and supporting my work.

I appreciate you! The good news is, although my mission here on this blog is complete for now, I’m going to transition to other platforms.

What’s Next?

The H.E.R Space Podcast

As you may have noticed, I haven’t posted much content on the blog this year. I’ve been super busy maintaining my new podcast, H.E.R Space.

My cohost and I launched the podcast in January of this year and it’s been wildly successful. We’re on track to reach 200,000 downloads by the end of the year.

My New Book

I’m also in the process of writing my first real book. I’ve sacrificed many weekends and late nights (after work) to produce the best self-help workbook-style book that compiles some of the stories and lessons I’ve shared on the blog but with much more detail and practical tips.

More Motivational Speaking

Another exciting journey for me is my public speaking career. When I started this blog I was just getting started as a motivational speaker.

Today, I’m being requested to speak at conferences, colleges, and high schools all around the country.

My schedule is a lot busier these days and I’m finally living out all the dreams I wrote down in my journal back in the day.

I’ll keep the Mocha Girls Pit Stop blog up and running moving forward so you’ll have access to hundreds of blog posts, videos, and resources. I also plan to keep my YouTube channel up so you can tune into past interviews.

How Can We Stay Connected?

I’m in the process of rebranding but for the time being, you can keep in touch with me using the methods below:

Instagram: This is by far my favorite social media platform. I post inspirational content, selfies, and behind-the-scenes updates on my journey and any new ventures.

Although you may want to follow me here on Instagram, I would highly encourage you to subscribe to my inspirational newsletter to ensure that you don’t miss any updates regarding my book, webinars, or podcast updates.

I don’t own my Instagram following and if they decide to randomly close my page down (which they’ve done before) we won’t have any way to connect if you’re not on my email list. Learn more about how to subscribe below.

#WisdomWednesdaywithTerri: You can search this hashtag on social media for my inspirational posts however you’ll want to subscribe to my Widsom Wednesday newsletter officially for weekly inspirational emails every Wednesday.

The H.E.R Space Podcast (HSP): Much of my energy is going into the HSP these days. In a world where black women are often underrepresented and misunderstood, we need more safe spaces to just… be.

The HSP is that place. If you’re a black woman or woman of color looking for an extra dose of inspiration on the go, pull up a seat and join us on the H.E.R. (Healing, Empowerment, Resilience) Space podcast.

My cohost and I release episodes every Friday on iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify, Google Play, and most places podcasts are played.

Social media and branding training: If you’d like to learn more about how I went from being a broke grad student with a dream to a 6-figure earning businesswoman, you must check out my online training.

I genuinely love teaching others how to grow their followings, increase their impact, and monetize their passion. You can tune into my FREE #BeginnerBloggerGrowth masterclass here.

I hope to see you around, my friend!
