HomeMocha Girls on a MissionMocha Girl on a Mission: Erica Willis Terri Lomax January 14, 2015 Erica was nominated by her friend and sister Victoria Walker My nominee is the true definition of a Mocha Girl on a Mission because… She has adopted the role of being “The Big Sister” I never had at the age of 16. She has truly been an inspiration to me. She is loyal, honest, loving and self-less. She desires to see everyone succeed in life. Obstacles… A few years ago, Erica lost her father to cancer, years after her father’s death, she lost her nephew to murder, (they were extremely close). One year later in the same month, she lost her mom to cancer. Outside of those tragic events, Erica battled with low-self-esteem and was involved in an extremely abusive relationship. Erica has been through unspeakable tragedies and yet she has always come out on top. Outside of us being friends, we are the owners of Eevi Juices, LLC; a mobile juicing company in the DMV area. We are also the founders of a mentor program called Fruitful Souls and collectively we have hosted and developed two programs under our mentor program (Women on a Move and Daughters with Dreams). The day after we laid her mom to rest, was the day of our Women on a Move event. Erica was determined that no matter what or how she was feeling, she had to see to it that the event went on. I am inspired by her strength, determination, growth and overall character. Accomplishments… I would believe that her greatest accomplishment was being by her mother’s side every step of the way until she was taken home. In addition, Erica owns a successful juicing business, online shoe boutique (S. L.A.Y.) and Executive produces an online radio shoe called Spilling the T.E.A (Trendy, Entertainment and Artistry). All while being a full time employee as a Human Resource Generalist. Not to mention, she accomplishes all of these things with a smile. To learn more about Erica and Victoria’s business click here.
