Mocha Girl of the Week: Sorena Eaddy

Sorena is a Mocha Girl on a mission …

because back in April of 2013 God gave her a vision to write a book. At the time that the vision was given, Sorena had no idea how she was going to write this book. After attending a conference she was able to connect with another author who helped her on this journey to become an author. In the midst of her journey she was able to deliver two sermons at her parents’ church where she knew at that point that God had called her to preach to young and old people about Christ and how He can transform you. Her motto’s are “you’re never too young or old to live a life for Christ” and “Living a life for Jesus is extremely cool.” Sorena also enjoys mentoring young women in her local community and actively participating in different ministries at her church. She is a minister in training and a leader who plans to lead the people and develop disciples for Christ.

Sorena has overcome obstacles…

of brokenness, confusion, fear, and rejection. It wasn’t until a point in her life where she was at her lowest and was hurt by people that she had to draw near to Jesus for her healing. She meditated day and night on God’s word to help her with those issues that were weighing her down. She would journal everyday for about 2 months and in the midst of it all, she was able to write her book which was birthed from the pain she was feeling and her sharing the word daily with family and friends through text message.

Sorena believes that her greatest accomplishment…

has been giving God her “yes” for His will for her life. After submitting to God’s plan, Sorena became a published author on December 21, 2013. She has had the opportunity to speak at different churches about her testimony and her book. She has been able to start her brand/business the SLE Experience. Sorena is excited about the accomplishments that have taken place in the last several months and looks forward to what God has in store.
