HomeMocha Girls on a MissionMocha Girl on a Mission: Asia Sparks Terri Lomax September 9, 2013 Obstacles I’ve Overcome… The biggest obstacle I had to face was balancing my personal life with being in nursing school, trying to get straight A’s, and trying to be at school on time, when the night before, I was at the studio until 2am and still had to finish homework. I mention this because I feel like if I can balance school and my career, and accomplish those things and actually see progress, like being on 106 & Park, graduating, and completing my first mixtape Spark Up Vol 1. I can do anything in my music career. My Greatest Accomplishment… I have been in the music industry for a year. Within this year, I have been on Powerhouse my 2nd month in the game, 106 & Park my 8th month in, Bet Music Matters and I just got a role for a movie coming up this year. I also dropped my first mix-tape Spark Up Vol 1 Hosted by Dj Don Cannon on datpiff.com. I just got a citation and an award from the city of Philadelphia for my dedication to the youth and for my community service. There’s so much more, and I have just been really blessed! How I Achieved Success… Late nights, early mornings, and my team. I couldn’t do it without them. Everyone who is a part of my team has the hustle in their blood. We don’t sleep until we are heard and understood. Sparkle Girls and Spark Boys are here to stay. As far as my artistry, I put sweat, blood, and tears into my body, dancers, shows, and lyrics sometimes. I have a hustler mentality and I won’t stop until the world knows Asia Sparks. My Advice for Women with Big Dreams… Do not stop. It’s a man’s sport so we have to go twice as hard to make it. Stay positive and never give up!!! My Inspiration… My fans, they keep me going. To hear that I’m inspiring people through my music. It makes me feel good.
