I was one of those black kids that attended predominately white schools for the majority of my life. Not by choice, but my parent's enrolled me and I attended. I was none the wiser and I don't regret it. It never occurred to me that we were missing a white history month because quite frankly, in every subject, from art to astronomy, the pioneering leaders that I learned about in school, didn't look like me. I woke up in such a blah mood. It got real this morning. You ever have one of those days where it seems like the world is out to get you? That's how my day began. I'm not sure if I had a bad dream or what, but I woke up not feeling like myself. It doesn't help that it's cold (and I'm from the east coast, I know cold) gloomy and rainy here in San Francisco.
