Mocha Girl of the Week: Rachel Cargle

Why Rachel is a Mocha Girl on a Mission…

My passions are what lead me. They are what fill my heart with the sense of adventure, exploration and possibly that keep me going every day. I put much effort into recognizing and cultivating what I call my passion projects: those things that excite me so much I’m compelled into action. So far, those have included moving to a city hundreds of miles away from home, starting a company that serves my community and its employees equally as much and working toward building a speaking career to inspire and encourage others to follow their dreams!

About Rachel…

Age 23 and newly divorced in the summer of 2012, I walked away from a fairly cushy marriage. Recognizing that I had self-recognition and belief in my own abilities I was able to leave behind the security of being a stay at home wife and the luxuries of a newly built home and foreign cars.

I decided to live out dreams of my own and traveled from my Ohio home to the nation’s capital with mot much more than my Jetta, my favorite book and my Crockpot.

Completely unaware of what was ahead I dove right into the city staying a few nights with the one friend I had in the city and other nights in a local hostel. With full belief in myself, I landed a job within a few days and found an apartment.

Living in a city with such a tremendous difference in cost of living caused me to REALLY hustle. I picked up several jobs including labeling envelopes and hosting children’s birthday parties and eventually spending lots of my weekends babysitting for local families.

It was those hustles that led me directly into my passion project of creating The Sitter Circle, LLC, my very own babysitter and nanny placement agency; providing families with exceptional childcare and offering employment to the many experienced women looking to care for children!

Rachel’s Greatest Accomplishment to date…

My greatest accomplishment to date has certainly been leaving my full time communications position in order to commit to my business, The Sitter Circle, LLC. It was always such a burden to me being on someone else’s schedule, building someone else’s dream. I would spend those 8 hours a day, dreaming of my own possibilities and the clients I could help and the other women I could be encouraging to reach their own potential.

Being able to step away from employment and pursue my passion project has been such an incredible experience and an accomplishment that I take great pride in.

Keep in touch with Rachel!
