Ivory Bell is a Mocha Girl on a Mission, because she has literally been to hell and back and refuses to let her adversity get the best of her. I had the opportunity to see Ivory grow through her years at Salisbury University and it is just phenomenal to see what God is doing in her life. She is a very well-spoken, caring, loyal, and passionate young lady. I know her dreams of becoming an event planner will come to fruition very soon. I am glad to call her one of my best friends and a sister in Christ.

Some of the obstacles Ivory has overcome range from little to big in my eyes. She has gone through self-identity issues, the death of her father, and a physically and emotionally abusive relationship. There was a time when Ivory did not really know her true worth. But I am blessed and honor to see her embrace who she is wholeheartedly and love herself! She knows her worth stems from Christ and Christ alone.

Ivory is a junior at Salisbury University. Throughout her time at SU she has gotten involved with many activities on campus. Ivory is currently the Vice President of Pinky Promise Salisbury University. Pinky Promise was founded by Heather Lindsey and it is an organization that encourages women to honor God with their lives, minds, bodies, and souls. Ivory is also a mentor for TRiO Achieve Student Support Services and she is on the Support Committee for the Department as well. Ivory spends a lot of her time volunteering in the community, because one of her passions is to create a better environment for African American people. She currently volunteers at Stop the Violence, an after school program in Wicomico County, aimed to reduced the amount of violence in the community by providing a safe-haven for children. Her greatest accomplishment is when she surrendered to the will of God over her life. Ivory is a busy young lady and I am so proud of her.
