Mocha Girl on a Mission: Jennifer Wilford

mgom_jennwilfordObstacles I’ve Overcome…

After losing both of my parents in 2008 months apart, I walked away from 18 yrs of lesbianism, because I promised my mom and God I would do so. It has been almost 5 years since my last relationship with a female. I suffered from major depression during the loss of my parents, which caused a major turn in my life. I went from having everything, to losing it all. Still, God allowed me to soar because I continue to help others through ministry and creative design.

My Greatest Accomplishments…

  • Self Taught Graphic Designer, opened JeDesignsGraphx in 2006 and has created designs for several celebrities and well known businesses
  • Author of Blessed Therapy: A True Story of Tragedy and Triumph
  • Creator and Designer of RnB Clothing Line
  • Created promotional material for the launch of Tony Fortune’s WaveMasterz, which is the hair brush line of Shad “BowWow” Moss and Mike Vick.
  • Participated in the Love Healthy logo design selection

I’m a Mocha Girl on a Mission because…

I believe that if you want anything in life, you must always keep God first; and that is the way I have lived my life. I enjoy helping others and being of service to others. My happiness comes from seeing others dreams come true and that is what I aspire to do each time I interact with a client. To be able to take their vision from a piece of paper or a phone call and create exactly what they see, is still mind blowing to me! My ultimate goal once I relocate to Atlanta this year, is to open my own office where I can print my own T-shirts (Roots And Brokenchainz) with new designs daily and house my graphic business. Even though I am still rebuilding my life, I will never let the devil steal my joy. I have come too far to let go now!
